It's time to salute this great Soul...

Friends,

I have taken up this lovely oppurtunity to write about my grandpa. This generation might not know of him for sure, But i would like to write about him who has contributed a lot to the world of cinema.

How many of you know that i hail from a family of filmy background?? No one... ain't ya? :-)

Yes.It's time for me to inspire you young movie buffs & top guns who now look at cinema with more passion & are inspired to view it technically.Let me share my memoirs of Mr.V.Sethuraman.

He started with his career unlike other ambitious passionate people who were thriving to get into the world of cinema which had it's impact right from the day movies like Harichandra(The first ever tamil movie) was ever made because of his family & tradition which does not consider working in Cinema as a proper profession.

But once he had an oppurtunity to work with S.S.Vasan(Gemini Films) & worked through his entire life with the same production house there was no looking back. He took his options with just & worked in various movies in the Editing Department. He was a man of passion for his profession & his only aim in life was to provide good quality movies to audience. He had improved as a quality editor & had learnt the nuances of editing in a short span of time and movies like Avvaiyar, Chandralekha are just the right examples of his dedication towards his work which makes me admire him more from the audience perspective effective of the time being made & the Quality of editing which he has done.Never once has he revealed much about the movies hes worked on to his sons but today when we scan his name through portals like imdb, my heart leaps to no bound as he has been a part of many prestigious movies not only in Kollywood but also Bollywood. Friends, Let me just name a few best projects which he has done:

Kollywood:

   1. Avvaiyar(15 Aug 1953) (Editing Dept)

   2. Chandralekha(1948) (Editing Dept)

   3. Chandrodayam(1966) ( Editing Dept)

Music Department:

   1. Bhakta Prahlada (1967/II) (composer: songs)

Bollywood:

   1. Aurat (1967) (assistant laboratory coordinator)
... aka "Woman" - International (English title)
   2. Gharana (1961) (laboratory assistant)

   3. Bahut Din Huwe... (1954) (laboratory staff)

Such has been a contribution of this great man whom I am proud to say as my grandfather.Even as a kid we(me 'n' my sis) were naturally attached to watching a lot of movies amidst a variety of advice from my mom. But today i feel it runs in my blood. Though we may not be a part of the tinseltown,Our family is too proud to have such a person who's stood up & made the entire dynasty proud by creating history and having contributed so much and has had his name written in the "Letter's of Gold" in the World of Cinema.
