Madras--> Is it Still the same?

Friends,

I used to live in a colony..How good it used to be!! A Huge Colony with friendly people. As kids, there's not a day when we not had the fun of playing. All of us studied through the day at school and played our evening though we have had a lovely time. I used to rush home before dad comes home :)

I still can feel the pleasure of the wind gushing through like waves when i stand in besant nagar. wow... it used to be days as a kid... Playin along the sand ...making sand castles,No traffic,Less crowd hardly can see a few people walking.I used to stand with my hands held tight gripping my father for support.

No sathyam Cineplex, No Spencer Plaza, No City Centre, Nothing at all. Thiruvanmiyur was absolutely not considered a part of the city at all. No Auto's ...Our Only Source was the Bus Stand & not to forget only Doordarshan for everyone :) Still I enjoyed everything absolutely. the beautiful marundeeswarar temple, surrounded by lush green fields & water at 20 feet was how it all began. Memories to cherish!!

Diwali.Pongal,Christmas & all festivals were celebrated alike with Pomp 'n' Ceremony and People were not selfish, Each one had time for one another & Life was Just so beautiful with Loads of Love always in the air.

As days grew so was the environment. Flats had started springin up like Mushrooms everywhere, The So called Economy was growing. Children were started to be forced as how & what they wanted to be and things were all turning different.all of us had to slowly change our life patterns and look where we are today.

I cannot find the most beautiful Mylapore 'n' Tiruvelikeni temples maintaining the sanctity today, Everyone including God have to go commercial. People are sticking on to culture just for the society sake and there is no love among younsters leaving aside elders. Such is the pathetic situation.
Hardly do i find the little ones come out of the flat to play. They are much engaged right from the day they are bundled up with school bags.Competitve World!! Every cent of land is occupied. People are Greedy. They want more..I cannot find anyone who have ever watched Chithrahaar & Oliyum Oliyum.

Ok You might ask me so what?? People have grown right? Yes. Right. It cannot always be the same. But what do you gain of it? How long can you be selfish?? What's the sole purpose of your existence?

People might have earned less money those days, But we lived a fairytale hoping atleast we would happily live ever after. But we the people have everything today but we are still poor by heart. we do not live nor let live...

Unlike other metros chennai has changed into a livimg competition of Horses.we gamble on our existence!!
