In Pursuit of happiness...

"Yesterday, I was driving, and the FM radio went off for few seconds. I thought, I should have an iPod. Then suddenly I realized that I have not used my iPod in last 6 months. And then... more things, Handy cam in last 2 years, Digital Camera in last 2 months, DVD player in last 1 month and many more. Now I can say that I bought that Handy cam just out of impulse, I have used it twice only in last 4 years.     So, what’s wrong and where? When I look at myself or my friends I can see it everywhere. We are not happy with what we have but all are stressed and not happy for the things we don't have. You have a Santro, but you want City...  You have a City, but you want Skoda. Just after buying a  new phone, we need another one. Better laptop, bigger TV, faster car,   bigger house, more money.... I mean, these examples are endless. The point is, does it actually worth? Do we ever think if we actually need those things before we want to buy them ? After this, I was

The boy was scheduled for surgery at a hospital in Shenyang, Liaoning province, to removed the extra fingers and toes, local media reported. Fruit Powered Clock This is the Eco-friendly Fruit Powered Clock, combines micro-electronic technology with the natural electrical potential of a fresh fruit or vegetable. The Fruit Powered Clock is available at $18. Though it is in an affordable price but I’m not wasting any apple nor getting rotten apple. But for fun maybe I can consider about it.

It's time to salute this great Soul...

Friends, I have taken up this lovely oppurtunity to write about my grandpa. This generation might not know of him for sure, But i would like to write about him who has contributed a lot to the world of cinema. How many of you know that i hail from a family of filmy background?? No one... ain't ya? :-) Yes.It's time for me to inspire you young movie buffs & top guns who now look at cinema with more passion & are inspired to view it technically.Let me share my memoirs of Mr.V.Sethuraman .   He started with his career unlike other ambitious passionate people who were thriving to get into the world of cinema which had it's impact right from the day movies like Harichandra(The first ever tamil movie) was ever made because of his family & tradition which does not consider working in Cinema as a proper profession.  But once he had an oppurtunity to work with S.S.Vasan(Gemini Films) & worked through his entire life with the same production house there was no

Most stupid questions people usually ask in obvious situations!!

Image
1. At the movies: When you meet acquaintances/friends... Stupid Question: - Hey, what are you doing here? Answer: - Don’t u know, I sell tickets in black over here.. 2. In the bus: A heavy lady wearing pointed high-heeled shoes steps on your feet... Stupid Question: - Sorry, did that hurt? Answer: - No, not at all, I'm on local anaesthesia...why don't you try again. 3. At a funeral: One of the teary-eyed people ask... Stupid Question: - Why, why him, of all people. Answer: - Why? Would it rather have been you? 4. At a restaurant: When you ask the waiter Stupid Question: - Is the "Butter Paneer Masala" dish good?? Answer: - No, its terrible and made of adulterated cement. We occasionally also spit in it. 5. At a family get-together: When some distant aunt meets you after years... Stupid Question: - Munna, Chickoo, you've become so big. Answer: - Well you haven't particularly shrunk yourself. 6. When a friend announces her wedding, and yo

Lives of Married Desi American's - Maya & Andy

Hey Friends, Again it's time to highlight a thought which has been running in my mind for long. It's to Symbolize the Plight of young & dynamic women who are married and settled in foreign Countries... What Dynamism!! How Independent!! Intense at work & balanced are life’s of young guns who pass out of college and start working. Over a short span of time when it comes to wedding they have to choose between their career n future. Not pushed and not compelled but these young women often prove submissive to young gentlemen who are "Settled" abroad. Wise Choices...Women are always after security. No harm...it's they instinct bonded right from the day they peep out of the womb :) so yes.. of they get packed to live their fairytale. But my thought is what life post wedding is? Where has their dynamism and majestic walk gone hidden? Are they still working? The majority say "No". They are turning Homemakers. It is not the fault of those women or th

The enigma of Sundarbans tiger

Image
Closing up to Sundarbans mammals There are few enigmas in the wild that catch one’s attention as much as the tiger in Sundarbans. Every visitor to Sundarbans Tiger Reserve is mesmerised by the panoramas that widen and open up every passing minute and greet one as she or he drifts away from mainland India. And the journey through the seemingly unending maze of water courses clothed by the world’s largest mangrove forests, and there are miles and miles of these, is all but tiring. If at all, this journey refreshes one’s mind and spirit. While there are quite a few protected areas in India that allow mammals to be observed from close quarters, Sundarbans is certainly not on that list. The mangroves are evergreen. The trees are short, have a dense canopy, grow very close to each other and hence visibility is poor. The best bet to see wildlife here is to sail through the water courses, expecting the animals to emerge out of the forests on the shore. But, crossing the islands one after

Madras--> Is it Still the same?

Friends, I used to live in a colony..How good it used to be!! A Huge Colony with friendly people. As kids, there's not a day when we not had the fun of playing. All of us studied through the day at school and played our evening though we have had a lovely time. I used to rush home before dad comes home :) I still can feel the pleasure of the wind gushing through like waves when i stand in besant nagar. wow... it used to be days as a kid... Playin along the sand ...making sand castles,No traffic,Less crowd hardly can see a few people walking.I used to stand with my hands held tight gripping my father for support. No sathyam Cineplex, No Spencer Plaza, No City Centre, Nothing at all. Thiruvanmiyur was absolutely not considered a part of the city at all. No Auto's ...Our Only Source was the Bus Stand & not to forget only Doordarshan for everyone :) Still I enjoyed everything absolutely. the beautiful marundeeswarar temple, surrounded by lush green fields & water at
